Next week, The Facilities Event returns for its residency at the Birmingham NEC. The three-day event will gather some of the biggest names in FM to discuss the hot topics that have shaped the FM landscape of the past year.
For 2018, the focus is on the ‘productivity puzzle’ and how FM is key to boosting the bottom line. Each day a series of panel debates will cover a range of subjects – touching on technology, HR, workplace, design and, of course, FM. Chairing the panel debates are TwinFM editor Brian Shillibeer, Tomorrow FM editor Ryan Lloyd, 3edges director Ian Ellison and newly appointed Magenta content manager Simon Iatrou.
The programme will feature a number of keynote presentations. Advent IM’s Mike Gillespie will discuss the threat FM now faces from cyber-crime, as hackers bypass main IT systems and instead target property and facilities-related devices. Visitors will also hear from biophilic design expert Oliver Heath on the compelling research that demonstrates how workspaces can harness nature to reduce stress in the workplace. Other names on the bill include Anne Lennox Martin, Dr Paul Wyton, Raj Krishnamurthy, Jeremy Dicks, C-J Green and Geoff Prudence.
Magenta will be there in full force. For a second year, we have been responsible for the PR supporting the event as well as compiling all the content on the programme. Cathy, Lou, Simon, Gemma and Ollie will be there, wearing Magenta badges and carrying rather inconspicuous pink clipboards. If you spot them, say hello!
